Annual Conference Poster Guidelines

Annual Conference Poster Session Guidelines

A Poster Session is a graphic presentation of an author's research. Authors/Presenters illustrate their findings by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams, and a small amount of text on the poster boards.

Poster sessions will be held on Monday afternoon from 3:45 - 5:00 pm in the main banquet room. As a method of organization, each poster presenter is assigned to a numbered easel along the perimeter of the room. Poster numbers will appear in the printed conference program.

Presenters will hold discussions with attendees who are circulating among the poster boards. Many presenters find it helpful to present a brief introduction to answer the obvious questions and all the remainder of the time for more in-depth discussions. Presenters are expected to be present for the entire session.
  • Proposal submitters and Poster Session presenters must be an individual, student, or retiree member of MiALA (with dues paid) prior to submitting a proposal and all proposals must be submitted using the online submission form by the deadline.
  • Poster Session presenters must register for the conference (full or one-day)
  • Presenters who fail to show up for their scheduled presentations without previously notifying the conference chair of cancellation will not be permitted to present posters or sessions at any MiALA-sponsored meeting for two years following the "no-show."
Presenters are encouraged (but not required) to submit an electronic version of their poster and/or supplemental handouts for posting on the Annual Conference archive page.
