Events of the last two years have produced many challenges and changes in Academic Libraries—in the ways we engage with our patrons, our campuses, our spaces, our technologies, and our work lives. Michigan Academic Libraries Association invites you to consider the evolving ways that library professionals are Engaging The Landscape of their current environments. What has changed? What remains the same? Where should our focus be? What are the ways that we are actively engaging to create the Academic Library of the future? How are we doing so in more mindful ways?
The MiALA board and conference committee are planning for an in-person gathering in Holland, Michigan, but with opportunities for virtual attendance for those who are unable to travel. We acknowledge the continued shifting of conditions in Michigan and will adjust conference plans if necessary for the health and safety of all attendees.
Conference rates have not yet been determined. For budgeting purpose, you can view the 2019 conference landing page.If you join MiALA when you register for the conference, not only will you be able to pay the discounted member rate but your membership will continue until June 30, 2023 (giving you up to three extra months of membership). *This offer is for first time members!

Poster Session Information

Breakout session proposals for the 2022 conference are due January 11, 2022. To learn more about presentation types/topics that will be accepted for breakout sessions as well as other important information that you should know if your proposal is accepted, be sure to check out the breakout session guidelines page. MiALA is committed to creating and supporting inclusive, diverse, and equitable conference participation, task forces, and Interest Groups (IGs). In March 2021, the MiALA Board approved the Annual Conference Code of Conduct presented by the IDEA committee. Participants and presenters will be expected to agree to abide by the Code of Conduct (located here: https://miala.org/ac_code_of_conduct.php) upon registration.
